Condamnation à Marseille d’un homme ayant tué son chat à la carabine

Un homme qui avait tué son chat dans son appartement de la cité phocéenne en décembre 2022 et qui avait également menacé sa compagne a été jugé par le tribunal correctionnel de Marseille. Il a été condamné à six mois de prison assortis d'un sursis probatoire.

La Provence rapporte ce lundi 27 février 2023 qu’un homme de 30 ans à Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) a fait preuve de violence envers leur animal de compagnie plutôt que sa compagne, en décembre 2022. Après que leur chat ait uriné sur sa serviette, l’homme s’est énervé et a tiré sur l’animal à l’aide d’une carabine.

Quelques jours plus tard, l’homme en question a continué à manifester des signes de violence envers sa compagne en la menaçant et en causant des dégâts matériels tels que la détérioration d’une table en marbre ainsi que la vanne d’arrivée du gaz. Face à cette situation, la jeune femme a décidé de se défendre et de porter plainte.

Il aurait visé un pot de fleurs

Au cours de l’audience, la compagne de l’homme n’a pas souhaité se porter partie civile. Elle est également revenue sur les déclarations qu’elle avait faites lors du dépôt de plainte. De son côté, l’accusé a admis avoir « probablement dit que j’allais la tuer, sous le coup de la dispute », tout en affirmant qu’il avait toujours pris soin d’elle.

Selon lui, la mort du chat n’est qu’un accident qui a découlé de son jeu imprudent avec un pot de fleurs : « J’ai tiré bêtement sur un pot de fleurs pour m’amuser et j’ai tué le chat ». En conséquence, l’homme a été condamné à une peine de six mois de prison avec sursis probatoire, qui inclut une interdiction de contact avec sa conjointe.
