Un groupe armé a tendu un piège à des gardes du grand parc national de l’est de la RD-Congo (RDC), vendredi 24 avril. Douze gardes ont été tués, ainsi qu’un chauffeur et trois civils.
Les autorités congolaises soupçonnent le FDLR, un mouvement fondé par des rebelles hutus rwandais réfugiés en RDC après avoir pris part au génocide contre les Tutsi en 1994, d’avoir perpétré ce crime.
Une nouvelle fois, le sang a coulé dans le magnifique parc naturel des Virunga, dans l’est de la RD-Congo (RDC). Vendredi 24 avril, un convoi d’écogardes est tombé dans une embuscade tendue par un groupe armé à l’intérieur de la zone protégée et qui abrite notamment les gorilles de montagne, une espèce menacée, victime de braconnage.. Selon le dernier bilan, douze gardes, âgés de 23 à 31 ans, un chauffeur et quatre civils ont été tués. « Trois autres gardes ont été grièvement blessés. Le pronostic vital est engagé pour deux d’entre eux », ont précisé les autorités en charge du parc.
