A man shot his neighbor's cat who had ventured into his garden, causing his two dogs to become agitated. This act of cruelty occurred on Thursday afternoon, April 20, in Lavelanet-de-Comminges, a village located about 50 km southwest of Toulouse, reports La Dépêche du Midi.
The sound of the gunshot alarmed the neighbors, and the police quickly identified a 19-year-old man, a tenant of a neighboring house, as the perpetrator. The next day, he was sentenced to a four-month suspended prison sentence, a fine of 1,800 euros, and a ban on owning animals.
However, the case does not end there. During the search of the individual's home, investigators discovered an impressive arsenal of firearms, including about 40 weapons, including a rifle with a scope and a shotgun. A second investigation was opened to determine the origin of these firearms.
