The CEO of Royal Canin France has issued a public warning to dog owners, particularly those who buy from discount stores, as batches of non-compliant products have been put on sale.
Royal Canin France has issued an alert to warn dog owners that unsuitable batches have been sold in clearance stores. It is crucial not to give them to your pets.
"In several clearance stores across France, which are not part of our distribution network (which includes vets, pet shops, garden centres and DIY stores), we have identified two batches of 'Urinary S/O foam for dogs 410 gr' not sold by Royal Canin, as they do not meet our quality and food safety standards." Stores in the Loiret region, among others, are implicated.
What products are involved?
These non-compliant production batches, which were not released for sale by Royal Canin, were ordered destroyed on February 14 and 15, 2023. They present a health risk for dogs.
"Our priority has always been and will remain the health and well-being of cats and dogs. This is why we ask all consumers to check whether they have purchased the batches 'Urinary S/O Foam for Dogs 410 gr' concerned."

These batches come in a package of 12 cans labeled 306A9STD10 or 306B9STD10. Each 410g can has the following number on the bottom: 06-02-25, FR45273002 RUL (expiry date: February 6, 2025) or 07-02-25, FR45273002 RUL (expiry date: February 7, 2025).
Another product has also been recalled for non-conformity. It is 'GI Low Fat Foam for Dogs 410 gr' and has the following part numbers: 06/02/25, FR45273002 RLL (expiry date: February 6, 2025) and 07/02/25, FR45273002 RLL from 00:00 to 03:00 (expiry date: February 7, 2025).

If your dog has eaten any of the batches mentioned, we advise you to have your pet examined by a vet as soon as possible.

The company has no intention of stopping there:
"We have initiated an investigation and informed the relevant authorities in order to understand how these non-compliant batches, despite their certificate of destruction, could have been sold without our consent."
