The authorities of the Château-Thierry/Nogentel gendarmerie company were informed of a tragic story that occurred in the small town of Villers-sur-Fère, located in the southern part of the Aisne.
According to information provided by the media l'Union, a dog was found around 1:30 pm on Friday, February 17 in the garage of a young retiree's house, surrounded by a pool of blood. It seems that this individual, who was suffering from depression, had been bitten by the dog the day before and then decided to slit its throat.
Since the man was alone in the house at the time of the events, he will be the only one able to provide information on the circumstances surrounding the animal's death.
The pensioner was admitted to hospital
The man went to the hospital in Soissons where his wife was hospitalized, and was later admitted himself. Later, he was transferred to the Aisne departmental public mental health establishment (EPSMD) in Prémontré.
In January in Belgium, a 71 year old man had also slit the throat of a dog that had been offered to him the day before.
